Biography
Graduated cum laude in Civil Engineering – Structural Section at the University of Rome “La Sapienzaâ€, in 1991. In 1996 she received his PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Florence. From February 2001 to September 2015 she was a researcher in Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Florence. Since October 2015 she is Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the same Department, where she is currently teaching Structural Engineering – Section II, and Earthquake Engineering. The main research fields concern various topics within earthquake engineering, structural dynamics, finite element modelling, and structural assessment, testing and rehabilitation. She is author of about 150 scientific papers, 30 of which printed in Scopus/ISI Web of Scienceinternational journals. Two among these papers were jointly awarded the 2001 edition of the “Munro Prizeâ€, for the best paper published every year in Engineering Structures journal. Another paper was awarded the 2002 “IABSE Outstanding Paper Awardâ€, for the best paper published every year in Structural Engineering International journal. A fourth paper received the Key Scientific Article Certificate for Excellence in Engineering from Advances in Engineering international scientific organization. She was and is committed as reviewer for more than 10 Scopus/ISI Web of Science-indexed international journals. She was member of Research Units participating to international research Projects financed by the European Commission within the Fifth Framework Program, as well as in national Projects financed the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. She was and is currently, the Scientific Responsible person for the University of Florence in the Executive Programme DPC (Italian Department of Civil Defence)-ReLUIS (University Network of Seismic Engineering Laboratories) – Research Line: Isolation and Dissipation. She is member of the Scientific Board of the joined Doctoral School of the University of Florence and the Technical University “Carolo Wilhelmina†of Braunschweig, Germany.
